What our numbers mean — and what they don't.
AVANTÉ gives you estimates and confidence, never certainty. This page states plainly what each figure is, what it isn't, and where responsibility sits.
AVANTÉ produces fit, style, and shopping intelligence as decision-support estimates, not guarantees of exact fit, health, professional, legal, financial, or retailer outcomes.
Fit scores and size recommendations are estimates
AVANTÉ produces fit scores, confidence figures, and size recommendations as decision-support estimates derived from your Style Profile and the garment measurements published by the retailer. They are not guarantees of exact fit. Garment measurements vary between production runs, fabrics behave differently on different bodies, and retailer size charts are not standardized. Always review the retailer's own sizing information and return policy before purchasing. You are responsible for your purchase decisions.
Virtual try-on images are AI-generated
Virtual try-on visualizations are generated by artificial intelligence. They are illustrative approximations of how a garment may drape and fit. They are not photographs, are not a promise of the garment's real-world appearance, colour, texture, or fit, and may contain visual artifacts. Colour reproduction depends on your screen. Do not rely on a rendering alone when making a purchase.
Body measurements are estimated, with stated confidence
Measurements derived from a photo scan are statistical estimates and are published with a confidence score. Accuracy degrades with loose clothing, poor lighting, and camera angle, and we surface that in the app. Estimated measurements are not a substitute for a professional tailor's measurement and must not be used for tailoring, medical, clinical, or diagnostic purposes. You may correct any measurement at any time.
Styling and shopping guidance is automated
The concierge, stylist, and related guidance are generated by automated systems. Output may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect, including product availability, prices, and descriptions. Nothing produced by these features is professional, medical, health, legal, or financial advice. Verify prices, availability, materials, and terms with the retailer before you buy.
The Maître is a persona, not a person
The Maître is AVANTÉ's virtual concierge persona — a brand character, not a real human. The likeness, voice, and manner are created to make guidance feel warm and personal. The Maître does not have opinions, credentials, or a real identity, and its imagery is generated. Guidance the Maître presents is automated and carries the same limitations as any other estimate in the app.
How to read our published accuracy figures
Our public Accuracy Report publishes thresholds that were pre-registered before any data was collected, and reports results whether we pass or miss them. Figures are reported with their sample size (n) and 95% confidence interval. Fit-outcome figures are observational beta data, not a randomized controlled trial: they describe outcomes for users who followed versus ignored our recommendation and do not establish causation. We do not claim, and have never claimed, that using AVANTÉ guarantees a fit or a reduction in returns for any individual.
We do not sell the garments
AVANTÉ is not a retailer or a party to your purchase. When you continue to a retailer, that retailer's terms, pricing, shipping, warranty, and return policy govern the transaction entirely. We never charge you for a garment and cannot accept returns or issue refunds for one. Some links may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you; this never changes a fit score, a size recommendation, or the order in which results are ranked by fit.
Not professional, medical, or health advice
AVANTÉ does not provide medical, health, clinical, nutritional, legal, or financial advice. Body measurements, weight history, and related figures are provided for garment-fit purposes only and must not be used to diagnose, treat, or make health decisions. Consult a qualified professional for any health or medical question.
Beta service
AVANTÉ is offered during a beta period and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features, recommendations, quotas, and published figures may change as models improve and as validation data accrues. Service availability is not guaranteed.
